Flat-pack assembly

from

£56

A double wardrobe takes about 2 hours 30 minutes

Wardrobes, beds, desks, cots and kitchen units built square and level, fixed to the wall where they should be, with every bit of cardboard taken away.

Priced jobs in this group

Several jobs? A half day is £190 and a full day £340, if that works out cheaper.

Flat-pack is quick when you have built the same wardrobe forty times, and slow when you are working it out from the pictures. We have built most of what the big furniture shops sell, so we know which cam lock to leave loose until the end and which back panel goes in before the top.

What a visit looks like

We lay everything out on the cardboard, count the parts, and only then start building. That ten minutes saves the hour you lose finding out at the end that a dowel is missing. Cam locks are tightened by hand, not with a drill on full torque, so they do not strip.

Anything tall gets an anti-tip strap into the wall. It is free, it takes five minutes, and it is the reason we will not leave a wardrobe standing loose.

When you leave us to it

Plenty of customers go to work and come back to a finished bedroom. Leave us a key or a key-safe code, and we send a photo of each piece when it is done.

Included

  • Unpacking, checking every part against the list before we start
  • Building with hand tools on the fiddly fittings, so nothing is over-tightened
  • Anti-tip straps fitted free on anything taller than a metre
  • Doors and drawers adjusted until the gaps are even
  • Cardboard, polystyrene and plastic taken away for recycling

Not something we do

  • Collecting the furniture from the shop (ask us about a van run)
  • Furniture with missing parts; we stop and help you claim them

Questions about flat-pack assembly

What if a part is missing?
We check every part before we start. If one is missing we build as far as we can, help you order it, and finish on a later visit at no extra call-out charge.
Can you fix a wardrobe to the wall?
Yes, and we do it as standard on anything taller than a metre. It is the single most important thing in a house with children.
Do you build beds and cots?
Yes. A double bed frame takes about an hour, a cot about 50 minutes. Add them to the job basket as small items.
